Chhendipada: A student drowned in a pond at Kodasahi village under Chhendipada police limits Angul district Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Badal (12).
According to reports, Badal along with his two friends had gone to take bath in the village pond when Badal lost his balance and slipped into the pond.
Immediately the friends of Badal informed his family members who later started a search operation to rescue him. When they could not find him they informed the fire brigade. The fire brigade personnel after two hours of search fished out the body of Badal from the pond.
