Students revel in fun-filled events

BHUBANESWAR:Eminence 2019’, a three-day branch fest of the Department of Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering, College of Engineering and Technology (CET), was inaugurated here Tuesday.

The fest was an amalgamation of both technical as well as fun events. There were a total of seven technical events – Technical Paper Presentation, CETronics, FET, Dig the Web, Robo Soccer, Find the Fault and the Robo Fair.

From karaoke to selfie contests, students of all years actively participated in each event enthusiastically. The most anticipated and appreciated fun event was the “Beg, Borrow and Steal“, where participants (in a group of three) were given a list of objects to find.

The objective was to beg those objects from people, borrow or even steal them to win the contest within a time frame.  Apart from this, ‘Gully Cricket’ and ‘Dumb charades’ were other attractions of the event.

The team also conducted some online contests in their Facebook page – Memeology (a meme-creating contest), Ink your Tale (a short tales writing contest) and Photograph IE Contest (the photography contest). The online events were open to all and people of all ages ranging from 14 to 40 participated in these events.

Students from the departments of Instrumentation and Electronics (I&E), Mechanical, Civil, IT, CSE and Electrical participated in all the events. The three-day extravaganza ended with a closing ceremony where the senior faculties of the college and all the faculties of I&E branch were invited.
