Getting a girlfriend seems to be easy for students at the Hindu College in Delhi.
In the campus, there is a tree which students called ‘Virgin Tree’ and the place is known as ‘Lover’s Point.’
Every ‘Valentine’s Day’, students decorate the tree with colourful balloons, festoons, condoms and a poster of a Hindi film actress, who is called ‘Damdami Mai’. After the decoration, the students worship the tree.
Boys believe that they would get good girlfriends if they worship the tree.
It is not yet clear how the tradition and worship of the tree started in the campus, but several students have their successful love stories to share.
Boys used to decorate any kind of tree in a similar fashion and worship it. While the senior students generally decorate the tree, they ask single juniors to worship it.
