Sonepur: With four new COVID-19 cases detected from 15 panchayats under Birmaharajpur block in Subarnapur district Monday, the district administration declared complete shutdown in the panchyats starting from Monday till July 31.
While the state government has already announced weekend shutdown in 11 hotspot districts, the Subarnapur district administration declared shutdown in its 15 panchayats in view of further spike in number of COVID cases.
During this 12 days shutdown period the district administration will take tough steps like contract tracing, symptom checking, to ensure isolation of suspected cases and door to door health screening of people.
The district administration has restricted movement of public and vehicles within and outside the 15 panchayats. Entry and exit points have been closed. All inhabitants within the containment zones are strictly advised to remain at home.
The district administration has closed all the shops including essential commodities and medical requirements. Various teams have been deployed to provide essential commodities and medical requirements to the villagers.
All government and private institutions located within the boundary of the containment zone will also remain closed.
With four new cases detected in the district, the district’s total tally reached 53. Out of 53 patients, nine are undergoing treatment at hospitals while 44 have recovered from the disease.
