Subhashree in final of TGPC’s Miss India-5

Bhubaneswar: Subhashree Pattanayak, a 22-year-old native of Cuttack, is to compete with 21 other contestants for TGPC title. She made it to the final from among more than 700 entries.

TGPC’s Miss India is an online pageant conducted on social media channels of the world’s leading pageant portal ‘The Great Pageant Community’ for unmarried girls, who want to pursue a career in modelling or beauty pageants.

TGPC, in season 5, has tie-ups with other pageants such as Miss India, Miss Universe, and Rubaru Miss India. Subhashree was part of Dabboo Ratnani’s model hunt in 2014 and came among the top 5. Soon after she did a Calendar shoot for PFA, Odisha. Subhashree is a graduate in journalism, psychology and literature from IFIM college, Bangalore, and is pursuing masters in film and television production from Amity University, Mumbai.

Subhashree said: “Since childhood I was fascinated by the world of glamour, and used to watch fashion weeks and follow pageants. I would stand before the mirror and practise my walk and talk and gradually had the hunger to make it in to a prestigious pageant and that was when TGPC’s Miss India happened. Even though it is an online pageant, the procedure was similar to other pageants. I am quite excited about this journey and need everyone’s support.”

Subhashree is keenly interested in travel, cooking, dancing, painting and reading about fashion and Bollywood. She is also an animal lover and feeds street animals and advises others to feed them and give them shelter whenever required.

In Miss Golden Heart project for TGPC’s Miss India season 5, Subhashree stood for orphans and asked people from strong economic and emotional backgrounds to adopt orphans and brighten their future. She advised youngsters to spend time with the unprivileged once in a while.

She says she is against people celebrating birthdays and anniversaries with orphans as she feels they only remember orphans when there are occasions. She believes in taking small steps in helping them rather than taking big steps and forgetting them.

According to Subhashree, TGPC’s Miss India has boosted her confidence and helped her grow in many aspects.
