Cuttack: Subhranshu Senapati (102, 81b, 7×4, 4×6; 1/8) continued his stupendous form and his ton helped Keonjhar enter into the semifinals of the Kalahandi Cup cricket tournament after pipping Cuttack B by one run in a thrilling Super League encounter here at the Ravenshaw Ground, Monday. The other teams to make it to the last four stage are Cuttack A, Bhubaneswar A and Bhubaneswar B.
Chasing 161 runs for victory, Cuttack B were skittled out for 159 runs in 41.2 overs. Opener Soubhagya Mishra (48) was the lone batsman to provide some resistance as others fell cheaply with none of them crossing the 20-run mark. Goutam Das (3/30), Sudhanshu Senapati (3/32) and Bipul Rout (2/27) were the wicket takers for Keonjhar.
Earlier, opting to bat first, Keonjhar simply rode on Subhranshu’s knock to post 160 runs in 39.2 overs. Manish Rout (3/29) bowled well for Cuttack B.
The semifinals are scheduled June 13. Cuttack A will face Bhubaneswar B at the Ravenshaw ground while Bhubaneswar B will fight it out against Keonjhar at the DRIEMS ground.
