Dhenkanal: A supervisor was killed while working at the hot strip mill (HSM) of an industrial plant at Meramandali in Dhenkanal district in the wee hours of Monday.
The victim was identified as Abdul Rauf, 42, a supervisor employed with Tata Steel Technical Services Ltd., a subsidiary of Tata Steel and a resident of Narayanpur area in Jamtara district of Jharkhand.
He was working at the hot strip mill when the accident occurred, resulting in a severe head injury. Company officials rushed him to the plant’s medical centre and later to the district headquarters hospital in Dhenkanal, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Following the incident, tensions ran high on the plant premises. On being informed, Hindol SDPO launched an investigation.
