Bhubaneswar: Surgeons from across the country and abroad descended on the Capital city to take part in the national conference of surgeons organised by Association of Surgeons of India under at the 79th ASICON meet.
The organisers said more than 7,000 delegates participated in the event to discuss several issues relating to the advancements in surgeries in the state and other related issues of medical science. “More than 7,000 delegates from all over the country and abroad took part in the event to celebrate the advancements in medical science,” said Organizing Chairman of ASICON, DrC R Das.
The event was attended by former ISRO chief AS Kiran Kumar, as chief guest. This is the 4th time, since its inception in 1938, that ASICON is being hosted in Odisha and attended by 7,000 delegates from all over the country and SAARC nations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sreejoy Patnaik, organising secretary, said “I am sure that through this quest for excellence our fraternity will work towards a better & healthier society.”
