There has been no major update in late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s case though more than a year has passed since his tragic death. Meanwhile, reports suggest that CBI has approached Facebook and Google to retrieve the late actors’ deleted chats and emails from Google.
The investigating team has sought the help of Facebook Headquarters in the US California. The CBI also wants to verify if there is any ‘other’ social media account, email, or link associated with the actor that remains unknown.
Even though the forensic team of AIIMS had declared Sushant’s death as a suicide, the CBI claimed it to be either abetment to suicide or murder.
Vikas Singh, the lawyer of Sushant Singh Rajput’s family, has confirmed that the CBI has approached the US under MLAT and sought Sushant’s deleted emails and chats as the CBI has not yet reached any conclusion.
After SSR’s death, the Mumbai Police started investigating the case and labelled it a suicide. However, Sushant’s death snowballed into a nationwide controversy after Sushant’s family alleged that his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty should be arrested for abetment to suicide.
Following the transfer to CBI, the agency recorded statements of all the staff present at SSR’s house and Rhea and her brother Showik several times.
Two more central investigative agencies, including ED and Narcotics Control Bureau, were investigating the case. NCB made several arrests related to SSR’s death, including Rhea, her brother Showik in drugs angle.
Despite several attempts at digging out the truth, CBI has not yet reached the closure report of this case and is now seeking the help of the US through the channel of MLAT.
The case may see some new angles if some more details about Sushant’s personal and professional life resurface after the investigation.
