Jeypore: Koraput District Collector Madhusudan Mishra suspended Friday the Nandapur Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Snigdharani Mishra. She was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.75 lakh from a member of Tini Bhairavi Self Help Group (SHG). Snigdharani was later arrested by the Vigilance Department officials, October 27. The suspension order was issued as per the directive of the Odisha government.

The CDPO had allegedly demanded the bribe for passing a bill of Rs 9,47,843 against purchase of ‘Sattu’ as well as for the renewal of an agreement on supply of ‘take home ration’ in favour of the SHG.
The woman officer was sent to judicial custody by Jeypore Special Vigilance Judge Srikant Mishra, following her arrest last month.
The Koraput Vigilance Department had earlier registered a case against Snigdharani for possessing assets disproportionate to her known sources of income in 2016, sources belonging to the district administration said.
