Mumbai: Actor Taapsee Pannu said Monday she has started filming her upcoming sports drama Rashmi Rocket. Set in Kutch, Gujarat, Rashmi Rocket stars Taapsee Pannu in the title role of a gifted athlete. The film is being directed by Akarsh Khurana, who helmed Irrfan Khan’s Karwaan.
Pannu took to Instagram and shared a picture of herself on a race track. “Let’s do this! #RashmiRocket,” the 33-year-old actor wrote. The film, backed by producer Ronnie Screwvala’s banner RSVP, began filming last week.

The movie’s shoot was previously set to commence earlier this year. However, it got delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Actor Priyanshu Painyuli will feature alongside Taapsee in the film. Priyanshu had recently starred in the second season of the ‘Amazon Prime Video’ web series Mirzapur.
The film is written by Nanda Periyasamy, Aniruddha Guha and Kanika Dhillon. Composer Amit Trivedi, known for Dev D, Lootera and Kedarnath, will be scoring the music for the film.
Rashmi Rocket is scheduled for release next year. Taapsee was last seen in Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad, which released in February. Since March movie halls had been closed due to the lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Cinema halls in some states have started opening recently. However, audiences have not been really forthcoming.
Taapsee, had said Sunday that for Rashmi Rocket she is really working hard. She said that she is increasing the strength of her hamstring as she will be donning the coat of an athlete.
