Bhubaneswar: Planning and Convergence Department Development Commissioner-cum- Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg Monday asked Director General of Police (DGP) to take necessary precautionary measures to avoid any untoward incidents during the distribution and collection of forms for the implementation of Subhadra Yojana in the state. In a letter, Garg mentioned that camps for the distribution and collection of forms may be organised at suitable locations as per the decision of district Collectors/municipal commissioners. “As the number of beneficiaries for Subhadra is more than one crore, hence it is apprehended that beneficiaries would assemble for collection and submission of forms at above-mentioned locations,” Garg said in the letter.
Moreover, unscrupulous elements may try to exploit people and engage in nefarious activities, the letter added. “It is therefore requested to issue instructions to all concerned to take necessary precautionary measures to avoid any untoward incidents during such activities for smooth implementation of the programme,” the letter said. “Adequate personnel may be deployed at appropriate locations in consultation with the district Collectors/ municipal commissioners. You are also requested to alert your team to remain vigilant and act on any tips/ information received and take strict legal action against any middleman or unscrupulous elements detected during the process. These instructions may be communicated to all officers in the field,” the letter read.
