25 kids chosen as finalists

Bhubaneswar: As many as 70 participants from 20 districts participated in the Little Miss and Master Odisha (International) 2018 audition at a hotel here Sunday. About 25 participants who have been selected at the auditions will take part in the finals scheduled for July 1.
Sayeeda Afra, 6, from Loyala School, won the hearts of the judges with her scintillating performance on skates to the song Tareefan from Veere De Wedding, while Hrishaan Kapoor, also 6, showcased his dancing prowess with a modern Hindi number.
Priyanshu Biswal from Bolangir went to the final round with his singing talent and general knowledge. His mother Prativa Biswal expressed her surprise and joy over his achievement.
The audition was based on three rounds – introduction by participants, dance and question-answers. Interacting with Orissa Post, chief jury of the show Valentina Mishra said, “Odisha is full of young talent and it’s an effort to present them on a global platform. More talented youngsters should come forward to make Odisha proud”.
Lyricist Panchanan Nayak said the competition encourages children to take part in such personality building events.
Artiste Rakhi Das said, “The show will judge children’s aptitude for fashion, dancing skills and power to interact. The parents of such kids should be thanked for encouraging their children to take part in such contests”.
Mrigakshi R Kumar, one of the young judges, expressed her happiness over the performance of kids who will get an opportunity to get a global platform.
According to organiser Sanghamitra Patnaik it was no mean achievement to conduct the world-class beauty pageant in the form of Little Miss and Master Odisha (International) 2018. “Proper training and grooming of the finalist will ultimately help the participant,” she pointed out.
