Bhubaneswar: A coffee-table book titled ‘Inspire… Empower’ was released Monday which narrates stories of success, courage and determination of differently-abled people in Odisha. The book produced by the ‘Office of the State Commission for Persons with Disabilities’ was unveiled by Minister Ashok Chandra Panda and chairperson of the commission, Sulochana Das.
Many physically-challenged persons in Odisha have overcome all the obstacles and achieved success through their will power, practice and perseverance, Panda said. He highlighted the success of para shuttler Pramod Bhagat who recently won a gold medal in the just-concluded Tokyo Paralympic Games.
The book features Bhagat, painters Sriharsh and Siddhartha Shukla, international chess players Prachurya Kumar and Sundarya Kumar Pradhan, Odissi dancer Rashmirekha Sahu, Forest department officer Tapaswini Das, meritorious student Baraj Das, ASHA worker Sabita Rana, Biju Patnaik Sports Award winner Dhabika Jayanti Behera, cricketers Pankaj Bhuey and Sukhram Majhi, Sugayak Srinivasa Rao and Dilip Sahu.
