Shergad: The students of Project High School at Dengapadar village under this block in Ganjam called off their strike against the transfer of their teacher after intervention of the administration Tuesday. They had launched their strike Monday.
According to reports, the school has about 200 girl students out of the total strength of 350. A lone female teacher was managing the institution. The students along with the parents put the school under lock Monday after the news that the teacher was transferred.
Block development officer Suranjan Kumar Sahu, assistant block education officer Laxmi Narayan Kar, local IIC Biswaranjan Nayak, Dengapadar sarpanch Ramkrushna Palei and samiti member Budha Pradhan Tuesday reached the school and pacified the students and promised that the teacher wouldn’t be transferred.
Following the assurance, the gate was unlocked and students returned to their classes.
