Puri: A day after meeting Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Bhubaneswar, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, along with his wife, paid a visit to the Srimandir here Monday.
It was around 11am when the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president, along with his wife Shobha, and a few political leaders and senior officials from Telangana, reached near the Lions’ Gate of the 12th century shrine amid tight security.
“District Collector Jyotiprakash Das, SJTA administrator (rituals) Biswajit Biswal and KCR’s hereditary servitor Mahaveer Pratihari and Ipsit Pratihari welcomed them before escorting them to Srimandir. KCR and his wife had an hour’s stay at the shrine before leaving for Bhubaneswar in the afternoon,” a SJTA source said.
“Apart from Lord Jagannath and his siblings, the duo paid obeisance at Satyanarayan, Bata Ganesh, Bimala, Saraswati, Mahalaxmi and Kanapata Hanuman temples on the Srimandir premises,” Ipsit Pratihari said, adding that prasad and a few books on Lord Jagannath were gifted to the TRS president as he appeared to be extremely satisfied over the temple visit.
