Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions continued to prevail across the state Tuesday with the mercury falling down below 10 degree Celsius at 19 places. The situation, however, will improve slightly from Wednesday, local Met office sources said.
According to Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, Daringbadi was the coldest place in the state at 4 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature at Phulbani was recorded at 4.5 degrees, Keonjhar and Angul at 6.4 degrees 6.6 degrees respectively.
Other places where the mercury came down below 10 degrees Celsius were Balasore (9.9), Cuttack (9.4), Bhubaneswar (9.5), Baripada (9.2), Jharsuguda (7.5), Sambalpur (7.8), Sundargarh (7), Hirakud (9.1), Talcher (9.4), Bhawanipatna (7), Balangir (8), Koraput (6.6), Titlagarh (7), Malkangiri (9.4) and Sonepur (7).
The temperature will increase by two to three degrees at many places from Wednesday and such condition will continue to prevail till January 6, the source said.
