Bhubaneswar: Despite the thundershowers in several coastal districts Wednesday evening, the weather across the state will experience temperatures above normal over next few days, Bhubaneswar based Regional Meteorological Center said Thursday.
According to meteorologist LK Giri, the above normal temperature will coincide with intermittent thunderstorm and rain in several places of the state.
“Over the next four to five days, temperature will stay two to three degree Celsius above the normal making the conditions extremely hot. The prevailing conditions, however, do not qualify to be called a ‘heatwave’ and we have not issued any alert in this context,” said Giri.
This apart, the Centre issued thunderstorm alert for several districts in the state for Thursday.
“Thunderstorm and lightning is likely to occur in South Odisha districts such as Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Kalahandi, Ganjam and Gajapati along with North Odisha districts such as Balasore, Keonjhar and Mayurbhaj are likely,” Giri added.
