Temple submerged in water since 650 years

India is a religious country and the number of temples is a concrete proof of it. Every ancient temple has its own story and unique traditions which differ from each other.

Today we are going to speak about a temple which has been submerged in a pond since 650 years. This mysterious temple is located in Raipur of Chhattisgarh.

Here, Kankali goddess is being worshipped and was built by Naga sadhus. It is said Mother Kankali came in dream and asked them to construct a magnificent pond and set up a small temple in the middle of the pond.

Initially, Naga sadhus and devotees used to come from different areas to worship the Shivling built under the temple. But a miracle occurred; water entered the lake and completely submerged the 20-feet-tall temple in water.

Many times, water was cleared and opened for the common devotees but again water would enter the temple premises and cover up the Shivling. So, the Naga Sadhus left it in the water and it is still worshipped under the water till date.

Presently the pond is full and the dome of the temple is only visible. It is estimated that the depth of the pond would be 30 feet. An amazing thing about this temple is, whoever takes bath in this pond gets rid of skin diseases.
