Bhubaneswar: The 15th annual terracotta exhibition ‘Mruttika-2020’ was inaugurated Friday evening at Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar by Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Padmini Dian.
The exhibition will remain open till November 12.

According to official sources, around 160 artisans participating from different parts of Odisha will showcase as well as sell their craftworks in over 100 stalls during the week-long exhibition, which draws a large number of visitors from across the state every year.
An estimated business turnover of over Rs 1.25 crore is expected this year. Live demonstration on terracotta making will be conducted during the week-long exhibition, the official sources added.
Notably, around 10,000 terracotta artisans in the state produce traditional, decorative and utility-based items. There are over 40 clusters of terracotta in Odisha. Three terracotta artisans have been conferred with national level and 18 with state level awards.
