Six-day-long national art exhibition opens at Suvadra art gallery

Bhubaneswar: A six-day-long national art exhibition, titled `The Pilgrim’, boasting a collection of 87 paintings was inaugurated at Suvadra art gallery here, Friday. Out of the 80 artists present at the exhibition, at least 20 were from Anand-One Varanasi.

Interacting with Orissa Post, P.Pranam Singh (Professor of Painting, Khairagarh) said,” This kind of national level art exhibitions definitely attract more crowds as well as artists to participate”.

Artist Sunil Viswakarma from Varanasi stressed on the visual importance of ancient Indian culture through paintings.

The contemporary paintings of Sanjay Singh from Varanasi depicting modern life caught the eyes of many while Snehalata’s paintings on socio-eco theme were highly appreciated by critics and guests alike.

Former Shree Jagannath Temple Administration chief and known art connoisseur Pradip Kumar Jena inaugurated the exhibition. In his address, he said, “the beautiful amalgamation of diverse paintings has really given the show a larger audience and Suvadra art gallery is doing a fantastic job in showcasing both traditional and modern art in one single forum”.

Artists like Sunil Kuswah, Pankaj Verma, Asha Prakash,Sarda Singh, Nidhi Tripathi, Vishka, Shradha Chaturvedi, Rahul Singh, Ajay Upasani,Satyendra Baoni, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Baldev Maharatha,Raghunath Sahoo,Binodini Behera,Jaya Jena,Tuhina Joshi,Sanjay Ketan,Arun Pallur,Suresh Dhal and Manas Ranjan Jena were present  on the occasion.

Movie star AshruMochan, Padmavibhusan Raghunath Mohapatra, Rabi Rath, Suvadra art gallery Chairman Surya Rath and Gallery Director Ashok Nayak were also present.
