Love him or hate him, one just cannot ignore superstar and actor Salman Khan. It is definite that he has more fans than critics, because some of the records he has created through his films are simply outstanding. For the last decade or so a Salman Khan movie is a sure-shot box office success and the perfect way for producers to go home with their coffers full. No one can predict the exact reasons for the insurmountable success that Salman Khan has achieved. However, it can be safely stated that Salman Khan has created a permanent place for himself in the annals of the Hindi film industry.

Orissa POST takes a look at some of the records he has created… records which are yet to be broken.

People, more so the 40-plus generation will certainly remember the Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit-starrer Hum Aapke Hain Koun which hit the screens in 1994. It was a super-duper hit. A total of seven crore and 40 lack tickets were bought by the public to watch the film. Even 25 years later, that record still stands. No other film has been able to achieve such phenomenal sales figures.

Salman Khan has given the maximum number of movies which have grossed Rs 300 crore or more at the box office. The films are Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Sultan. No other star of the Hindi film industry has achieved such a distinction. It just goes to show the massive following the man has. There has been frequent comparison between Salman and Shah Rukh Khan. It can safely be said that Salman has left his friend-turned-foe-turned-friend way, way behind.

Salman Khan has also the maximum number of movies that have grossed Rs 100 crore or more. It should be stated here that since 2010 all Salman movies have featured in the Rs 100 crore club. Salman has played the lead role in 14 movies that have hit the Rs 100 crore jackpot. Among them are Dabangg, Dabangg 2, Ready, Kick, Jai Ho and Bodyguard.

On the YouTube platform Salman Khan also has also been a huge hit. The song Swag se Karenge Sabka Swagat from the film Tiger Zinda Hai featuring Salman has been viewed 77 crore 30 lakh times. This is another record as no other megastar’s video has got so many hits.

The trailer of Tiger Zinda Hai, featuring Salman Khan was released on various platforms November 6, 2017. Within 24 hours of its release the trailer was viewed two crore 90 lakh times. The video was shared 2,52,000 times and received the 4,80,000 ‘likes’. Another record as far as the Hindi film industry is concerned.

So what are you waiting for? The next time a Salman Khan movie hits the screen make a beeline for the ticket counter.
