Mumbai: Worshipping the Lord Ganesha deity on his birthday in a proper manner can lead to the fulfillment of all your wishes. This year, Ganesh Chaturthi (Lord Ganesha’s) birthday will be celebrated September 2. It should also be stated here that Lord Ganesha has a different name also – ‘Vighnaharta’.

Before installing the Idol of Lord Ganesha  or Ganpati in the house, one must keep in mind the direction which is auspicious for him.

According to Vastu Shastra, the northeast corner of the house is the best location to place the idol of Lord Ganesha.

Lord Ganesha’s face should not face the south.

Always keep in mind that Lord Ganesha’s idol should be in sitting position as it is considered lucky for the house. For the workplace a standing Lord Ganesha is preferable. This brings energy and enthusiasm to work.

Devotees wishing to have the birth of a child inside the house should install an idol of baby Ganesha. Belief is that the family will soon be blessed with children.

The idol of a dancing Lord Ganesha will bring joy, excitement, and development at home. Worshiping this type of statue gives special benefit to students and artist.

Do not place Lord Ganesha’s idol inside the bedroom or close to the bathroom. It is inauspicious as per Vastu Shastra.

Whenever you are placing the idol of Lord Ganesha, remember that the statue of the mouse (Mushak) should not be far from the idol.
