Bhubaneswar: As many as 43,527 seats are lying vacant in Plus III degree colleges after second phase admission in the state.
A notification has been released by the Higher Education department for third phase admission into various courses in degree and autonomous colleges across Odisha.
The applicants can submit the Common Application Form (CAF) between August 17 and 20 for offline admission in colleges. The final list of shortlisted candidates will be out August 21. The admission will be conducted August 23.
Source said that the seats will be reserved for the candidates belonging to various categories in third phase. The seats will be allotted to other students if no application in those categories will be received for admission.
Around 1,91,741 seats were filled out of total 2,35,268 seats in degree colleges so far. While admission was held in 1,51,368 seats in first phase, 21,497 seats were filled in second phase. Out of total 9,212 seats in Sanskrit college, 5,983 seats were filled and remaining 3,229 seats are lying vacant.
On the other hand, 96,852 seats are vacant out of total 4,48,747 seats after second phase admission in Plus II junior colleges in the State.
While 15,059 seats are lying vacant in Pus II Arts stream, the numbers of vacant seats in Science, Commerce, Sanskrit and Vocational streams are 54,392, 19,868, 2,690 and 4,843 respectively.
