New Delhi: Choosing between her favourite character – from among Shuddh Desi Romance, Befikre and War – is difficult for Vaani Kapoor. The actor ventured into the Hindi film industry in 2013 with the film Shuddh Desi Romance. Vani Kapoor played a small town girl named ‘Tara’. In Befikre, she essayed a free spirited Parisian named Shyra opposite Ranveer Singh. In the action-packed film War, she was the femme fatale Naina.
Difficult to choose
“All of them. All the characters are favourites,” said Vaani diplomatically. She was asked which of these characters is her favourite? “These are characters in which I have invested my time, energy, and lots of hard work,” added the graceful actress.
Vaani in fact pointed out that it is very difficult to nominate one of these three characters as her ‘favourite’. “They are my labour of love and it will be very hard to choose one among all your babies. I have given love and my hard work and efforts to all of these characters individually,” Vaani pointed out.
Next project delayed
Vaani will next be seen in Shamshera, set in the 1800s. The film is directed by Agneepath maker Karan Malhotra. It is about a dacoit tribe that fights for their rights and also the nation’s Independence against the British. She will be seen sharing screen space with Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor. The film is scheduled to release July 31. However, now the release date has been postponed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Thoughts on intimate scenes
Vaani is however more remembered for her 23 onscreen kisses shared with Befikre co-star Ranveer Singh. She however, said that the movie demanded the scenes and she had no problems doing the intimate scenes.
“Well just for nothing, I wouldn’t do an intimate scene,” the actor opined. “I felt those (kisses) were in the flow of things in the movie. So I went through it,” Vaani asserted.
