Usually people hesitate or we can say avoid talking to strangers, but a person from Philadelphia talks with stranger every day. By doing this, he has befriended 2800 strangers in just four years. He has also given a heart touching reason behind it.
In 2015, 28-year-old Rob Lawless began to meet and befriend strangers. His goal was to spend 1 hour with 10,000 different people via his project Rob’s 10k Friends.
Lawless previously worked in a big company. He always had a habit of getting acquainted with new people, but after joining the company, he almost lost it. Tired of this, he quit his job in 2016 and started getting acquainted with strangers completely.
He wanted to simply meet people and hang out one-on-one, disconnected from technology and with no set agenda on mind.
Lawless begins his day with the visit to gym and after that he meets at least four strangers. He spends at least an hour with each stranger and tells them about himself, then tries to explore the other person too.
Actually, while giving reasons behind friendship with strangers, Lawless said connecting with different people is the most valuable way to spend time. As we become more accustomed to technology and social media, our human interaction is becoming lesser and lesser.
