Dhenkanal: Three persons were arrested on charge of gangrape of a woman under Motagaon police limits in the district, police said Thursday.
The accused have been identified as Subash Nayak alias Bimal of Nandipolia, Asish Kumar Sahoo alias Tubula of Patala and Chatura Sahoo of Rajasingha in the district.
The incident occurred September 1 at a village under Motagaon police limits where the three accused raped a 22-year-old woman in turns in the absence of her husband.
Police launched a probe and arrested the accused persons after the survivor lodged a complaint in Motagaon police station, Wednesday.
IIC Namita Nayak formed a team and arrested the accused during raids in their hideouts. A medical examination was conducted on the accused and the survivor.
As per police reports, the miscreants on finding the survivor alone forced into her house. The three raped her and fled the scene. They were arrested based on the complaint and later, forwarded to court.
