Sundargarh/Tensa: Three people were killed Sunday evening when driver of a speeding dumper lost control of the vehicle and crashed it into a roadside tea shop near the Jamudihi toll gate under the K Bolang police limits in Sundargarh district.
The deceased include the tea shop owner – Geeta Chakraborty, 35, and two unidentified truck drivers who were present at the spot.
The dumper, which was carrying iron ore from Koira, remained lodged inside the wrecked shop following the accident. Authorities said efforts are ongoing to remove it.

Police said that the accident occurred near the Jamudihi toll gate on National Highway 500. The speeding dumper – bearing registration number OD 09P 9922 – veered off the road and rammed into the tea shop in the vicinity, they said.
Police and local residents rushed to the scene to assist in rescue operations. Police suspect more individuals may still be trapped inside the debris. Tension prevailed in the area as residents expressed their anger over frequent accidents on the highway.
K Bolang police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
