Bhubaneswar, Dec 8: Having stunned teams like World and five-time reigning champions Australia and Asian giants Pakistan in their first two games of the Champions Trophy here, Team England are in no mood to relax and rest till they secure their first medal in the tournament.
On an off-day Monday, England players took to the grounds for over 90 minutes in the morning to train for their upcoming encounter against Belgium.
While some of the other sides rested, the English players were all charged up and concentrated a lot on set pieces as well as combination moves.
Alastair Brogdon of England expressed happiness over his side’s performance against Pakistan whom they defeated 8-2 .
“We are happy with the result, satisfied with the way we have played so far in the tourney. But we are not in a mood to relax. Pakistan are a good side but we did well and won the game,” said the 27-year-old England forward, while going through some stretching drills after the practice session.
The England player also asserted that his side was confident of winning a medal. “We are still learning. The boys are performing well and our goal is to reach the final at least,” stated Alastair.
England coach Bobby Crutchley pointed out that they are trying to improve everyday and win every match. “The tournament is still very open. It is important for us to maintain the winning momentum. We have gained in confidence after emphatic victories in the first two games. The players are determined to follow up on the good start we have achieved,” asserted Crutchley.
