Keonjhar: Three persons including a minor boy sustained grievous injuries Sunday after a gas stove exploded while being refilled at a shop near Sunanadi market of Joda locality in Keonjhar district.
According to an eyewitness, the high-intensity explosion took place while two persons were working in the shop and the minor was standing nearby. The injured boy has been identified as Budhadev Mahakud and the other two as Sanjay Maharana from Hudisahi and Sagar Khan from Joda market area in the district.
The two men did not take proper safety precautions while they were illegally refilling gas in the container of stove leading to the explosion and injuries, the eyewitness added.

Hearing the loud noise of explosion, some local residents rushed to the mishap site and rescued the injured. The three were sent to a private hospital in Joda for treatment. Later, they were shifted to Rourkela Ispat Hospital after their condition deteriorated.
On being informed by locals, Joda police reached the spot. Police have launched a probe into the incident.
