Bhadrak: A minor boy drowned in a pond at Aalia village of Sarsada panchayat near Bhandaripokhari in Bhadrak district Sunday.
The deceased was identified as three-year-old Omprakash, son of Pitambar Samal.
According to reports, when Omprakash was playing near the pond he accidentally slipped into the deep water and drowned.
When the boy did not return, his family members searched for him and found his body floating in the water.
Though they rushed the boy to Bhandaripokhari hospital, the doctors declared him brought dead.
The police have registered an unnatural death case and sent the body for autopsy.
