Thundershowers on cards for three days in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Most parts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rains accompanied with thunderstorms for three days beginning Thursday due to a cyclonic circulation formed over Bay of Bengal and its adjacent areas, the regional centre of India Meteorological (IMD) department here said.

While districts in coastal Odisha are expected to experience heavy downpour with lightning at one or two places, the remaining parts will be less affected. The 11 districts likely to get lashed are Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Khurda, Kandhamal and Ganjam.

The districts who have been warned of thunderstorms for Friday and Saturday are Sonepur, Dhenkanal, Bolangir, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Angul, Keonjhar, Bargarh. Mayurbhanj and Cuttack.

Parts of northern coastal Odisha have been issued yellow warning for Saturday. These areas will also experience rain accompanied by lightning Sunday and Monday according to the weathermen.
