Bhubaneswar: IMD Bhubaneswar in its weather alert has issued Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha till August 26.
Upto 8.30 AM of August 22: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal and Kandhamal districts.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of the state, the weather alert added.
From 8.30 AM of August 22 to 8.30 AM of August 23: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balasore, Gajapati and Ganjam districts.
The weather agency further said that heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati and Ganjam districts.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 34 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 34.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Chandbali while the lowest minimum temperature of 21.4 degree Celsius was recorded at Nabarangpur, the bulletin informed.
