Bhubaneswar: Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for Vice President Venkaiah Naidu’s visit to Odisha August 25 to attend the first convocation of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar.
The Vice President was previously scheduled to attend the convocation ceremony August 16. However, the programme was rescheduled to August 25 owing to demise of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said that 25 platoons of police force will be deployed during the VP’s visit. Moreover, a review of security arrangements was conducted by a team of senior police officers Wednesday.
“The entire security arrangement has been done as per the Blue Book guidelines. As the Vice President will be in Bhubaneswar for four to five hours, a detailed review of the security arrangements was done today,” Mohanty added.
