Telkoi (Keonjhar): In a heart-rending incident, an intoxicated man killed his 6-month-old son following a fight with his wife over some family dispute in Bimala Panchayat area under Telkoi police limits in Keonjhar district late Sunday night.
The accused has been identified as Bidesi Munda. The incident has spread shockwaves in the area. On receipt of information, police Monday morning reached the village and launched a probe.
Based on a complaint by the child’s mother, a case of murder was registered and a probe was launched while police arrested Munda and took him for interrogation.
According to sources, Munda Sunday night came home in inebriated condition and indulged in a fight with his wife Shanti over some family dispute. In a fit of rage, Munda held his son, who was sleeping, and threw him to the ground. The infant died on the spot.
Later, a complaint was lodged at Telkoi police station, following which police reached the spot and arrested the accused.
Further investigation is on into the incident, police said.
