Sambalpur: The presence of formalin was found in two fish samples collected Sambalpur market.
A joint team of Fisheries Department and Sambalpur Municipal Corporation officials collected the samples.
The two samples were collected from the fish market at Kuluthkani of Dhankauda block area in the district headquarters town here, an official of the joint team said, adding the samples would be sent to Bhubaneswar Food Testing Laboratory for further examination.
Raids by the joint team were conducted Thursday morning at several fish markets in Ainthapali, Budharaja and Govindatala areas here in the city.
A day ago, the Odisha Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Director said that samples of fish collected from various sources and procured from inland fisheries to detect presence of formalin tested negative.
