Trade fair a huge hit

BHUBANESWAR: The fourth edition of International Trade Fair, which began Friday, is drawing visitors from every nook and corner of the capital regularly.

Thailand, Japan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan and many other countries have participated at the fair. Interacting with Orissa POST, organiser Payal Acharaya Gupta said, “The fair houses 500 stalls which showcase a variety of products, from lifestyle to herbal medicine. As Diwali looms, we have brought special lights from Jaipur, Japan and China.”

India states like Odisha, Assam, Kerala and West Bengal have also participated at the fair. More than 3000 people are visiting the site every day. Razak, a seller from Afghanistan, had a field day as his honey bottles and saffron were sold like hot cakes.

Amrit Kumar Sinha from Ranchi is very happy with has a long list of clients as he deals with diverse covers for sofa, bed, coffee tables and like. Banarasi saree and dress stalls too hosted a huge number of women buyers.

Lifestyle blogger Anima Choudhury said, “This is an apt place for every shopper. Initially, I thought I will just visit the fair and leave but I have already shopped items of more than Rs 5000. Those who don’t get to travel foreign countries can easily buy stuff here.”

Mats crafted with cotton stuffing’s were a great hit with students who are planning to have an early winter party at nearby parks. Not only these, colourful lanterns, Indian Diyas and scented Sandalwood products for Diwali allured young and old shoppers alike.”

Two programs named ‘Smart Shrimati’ and ‘Little King and Queen’ are scheduled to be conducted on the fair premises on 19th and 20th October respectively. Winners will be felicitated with gift hampers, products and more.

The fair also features a unique corner for children. The game park was an instant hit for kids. Foodies need not to worry too as a large food court has been set up to satiate the appetites of every food lover. From Desi chicken and chakuli to Sambar Vada, the fair has it all.
