Train services hit as tree falls on track

Muniguda: Train services to Rayagada district came to a halt after a huge tree fell on the railway tracks between Ambadala and Dahikhal village under this block Friday.

The uprooted tree fell on the rail track early Friday morning, railway sources said. Rail services were restored later in the evening after removing the tree, the sources said.

Many trains including Santrachhi-Chennai Express at Muniguda station,Gandhidham-Puri Express at Ambadala railway station and Tirupati-Bilaspur Express at Bissamcuttack railway station were halted for the day.

Passengers had to go through unwanted problems due to the disruption. The situation was normalised and the tree has been removed, Muniguda station manager Purushottam Patajoshi added.
