Tributes pour in for former CM Biju Patnaik on his death anniversary

Bhubaneswar: People of Odisha Monday paid tribute to former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik on his death anniversary.

Naveen Patnaik — incumbent Chief Minister of Odisha and son of Biju Patnaik — also paid tributes to his late father stating, “Paying homage to the great leader, prominent freedom fighter, and former chief minister of Odisha, Biju Patnaik on his death anniversary. His legacy will live forever for his contributions towards the betterment of Odisha, protecting its pride and making it more industrialised”.

Biju Patnaik served as Chief Minister of Odisha twice, from 1961 to 1963 and then from 1990 to 1995.

Even after his tenure as Chief Minister, Biju Patnaik remained an influential figure in Odisha’s political landscape. His commitment to the welfare of the state and its people continued until his passing April 17, 1997.
