BHUBANESWAR: Chocolate Day falls on the third day of Valentines Week. It marks the occasion when lovers delight their significant others with a sweet truffle treat. Love birds in the city too are all set to surprise their crushes with chocolate boxes, vodka and perfumes among others.
It is not an ordinary occasion, where you can buy mediocre chocolates, as the gifts you give say a lot about you. This day is not just celebrated by couples who reside in the same place but lovebirds who maintain a distance relationship. A number of sites too are offering customised gifts services for this purpose.
There is a wide variety of chocolate gifts available for couples like Silk Treat which features a bunch of Dairy Milk Silk, a combo featuring Cadbury celebrations with flowers, variety of munchies chocolate and a basket containing Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Besides, there are many other combos featuring cakes with chocolates, flowers with chocolates and greetings with chocolates among others.
Orissa Post interacted with some youngsters of the city to delve deeper into the subject. Neha Roy, a recent graduate, said, “Like every year, I would get a basket of chocolate and share it with my friends. It is tough for me on this day as I hate to share chocolate with anyone (chuckles). On a serious note, it is a great occasion to give a sweet surprise to the people that matter to you.
Vikash Singh, an employee, said, “For chocolate lovers, every single day is a Chocolate Day. Valentine’s week is a very special one for couples. I celebrate the day by spending some quality time with my girlfriend at her favourite restaurant. I am also planning to gift her truffle treat.”
Rina Sharma, a mother of two, said, “I revel a lot on this day as eating chocolate is my hobby. Along with cooking various delicacies on this day, I prepare multiple items with chocolates for my husband and children. Sharing love with others and spending a calming day with family is the spirit of this day.”
