Bolangir: A wild tusker was found dead at Uparajhara village under Deogaon block in Bolangir district Wednesday.
The elephant was reportedly electrocuted after coming in contact with a live 11KV wire.
Sources said the wild pachyderm might have come to the area in search of food.
The local residents also alleged that two tusks of the jumbo have been removed by miscreants.
On being informed, the forest officials reached the spot and started an investigation.
