Two criminals involved in BJD leader’s murder hurt in police encounter at Ganjam

Aska: Two dreaded criminals were injured in a police encounter at Aska in Ganjam district Monday.

The arrestees have been identified as Sunil Jena alias Alekh and Krushna Jena alias Kanhu of Humuki village in Aska area.

Police said that the brothers were allegedly involved in the murder of BJD leader Bahana Lenka.

They both have sustained bullet injuries below their right knee. They were initially admitted to Aska government hospital but have been shifted later to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

Police have seized two pistols, five live bullets, Rs 17,500 cash and one motorcycle from their possession.

“They are the prime accused in the murder case. Lenka was killed December 31 last year,” said SDPO Suryamani Jena.
