Two die, 30 injured in Kalahandi road accident

Kesinga: Two persons were killed and more than 30 injured;  11 of them seriously, after the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a ditch near Kesinga Jolako in Kalahandi district in the wee hours of Monday. The deceased and injured are yet to be identified.

The injured have been admitted at Bhawanipatna and Kesinga hospitals. Among those whose conditions are critical, have been shifted to VIMSAR, Burla.

According to reports, the bus titled ‘Shree Jagannath’ with more than 50 passengers was heading from Bhubaneswar to Jeypore.

When the driver was negotiating a turn at Jolako, he lost control and the vehicle plunged into a ditch.

On being informed, police and fire personnel reached the spot and started rescue operations. Heavy morning fog also made the job difficult for them.
