Two injured in wild boar attack

Jharsuguda: Panic gripped the residents of Luhabaga village under Lakhanpur block in Jharsuguda district after two elderly persons including a woman were critically injured in a wild boar attack Thursday.

The victims have been identified as Ukia Pradhan (67) and Lakhpati Bhoi (60) – both residents of Luhabaga village.

According to villagers, the duo had gone to relieve themselves this morning when a wild boar attacked them.

Hearing their screams, locals rushed to the spot and rescued the duo. Both suffered grievous injuries in the incident. However, the villagers rescued the two and took them to a hospital for treatment.

On being informed, the forest officials reached the spot. Locals have asked the forest department officials to catch the wild animal immediately to prevent any untoward incident in the future.
