Barbil: Two people died after a truck hit the two-wheeler they were riding near Kandara fuel station on Rimuli-Rajamunda road in Keonjhar district Sunday.
While one of the deceased has been identified as Budhadeb Munda from Basudevpur area under Champua police limits, the second deceased person is yet to be identified.
According to a source, the duo on a scooter was going towards Joda. As they were nearing Kandara fuel station, a speeding truck hit them. Both of them were crushed under the wheels of the truck.
Soon people gathered on the spot and detained the driver. On being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them for post mortem. Locals handed over the driver of the truck to the police. The police also seized the truck.
A detailed probe is underway, it was learnt.
