Two rival groups clash in Ganjam district leaving 3 youths critically injured

Berhampur: Two rival groups of Gajapati Nagar under Baidyanathpur police limits of Berhampur city in Ganjam district clashed Tuesday late night, leaving three youths seriously injured, a source said.

A youth named Bikash Pradhan (20) who heads one of the groups along with two of his aides were critically injured. On being informed, local police reached the spot and rushed the injured to MKCG Medical College and Hospital (MKCGMCH) Berhampur.

Worthy to note, three youths of one group and two other youths of a rival group entered into altercations, due to past enmity. In no time, tension mounted and the former group attacked the later with iron rods, Baidyanathpur IIC Sarada Prasanna Das informed.

Local cops immediately sprung into action and detained two youths belonging to the attacker group at the police station. The officials have started a probe into the matter.
