Two sisters swept away in Salandi river, one fished out

Bhadrak: The body of a girl was fished out of the Salandi river in Bhadrak district Friday while her sister’s body is yet to be traced.

The sisters were identified as Radha Munda and Sobha Munda.

According to reports, the deceased Radha along with her elder sister Sobha had gone to take bath at Hanuman Ghata of Salandi river in the morning. However, while taking bath they slipped into deep waters and were swept away in heavy current.

On being informed, police along with fire service personnel reached the spot and launched a rescue operation to trace the missing girls.

After an hour of rescue operation, the team fished out Radha’s body. However, her elder sister Sobha is still missing and efforts are on to trace her, sources said.
