Bargarh/Bhatli: Police have claimed to have cracked the case of firing at a BJP leader’s house June 1 in which a youth was killed at Kusanpuri village under Bhatli police limits in Bargarh district and arrested two youths in this connection Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Narayan Satnami alias Bulu of Chamarpada village under Sohela police limits. The accused duo has been identified as Bablu Nag and Pramod Podh of Sohela. The police also seized a pistol from their possession.
Police registered a case and produced them in court. They were later remanded in Bhatli sub-jail after the court rejected their bail pleas.
According to the case diary, Bulu had gone to the BJP leader’s house over some work. At the same time, Bablu and Pramod also had gone to the house. Over unknown reasons, the two fired at Bulu and fled the spot.
After getting the information, police with the help of locals admitted Bulu to the Bargarh district headquarters hospital (DHH). Later, he was shifted to Burla-based VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) where he succumbed to the injuries.
After a massive manhunt, police nabbed the two Sunday. Further investigation is on, SDPO Suresh Kumar Naik said.
