Unique Ahmedabad school educates girls, help them get married

There are many ways of helping differently-abled people. But a school in Ahmedabad stands out because it not only provides education to such girls but also help them find suitable grooms.

‘Andh Kanya Prakash Gruh’ (AKPG) was started by Nilkanth Rai Chatrapati in 1954 with a fund of only 10 thousand rupees. There were only four students then. Now it has taken the shape of a large residential school. AKPG now has become a shining example because of the education it provides to the differently-abled girls and help them leading an independent and normal life.

However, the school’s USP is because it helps the girls find suitable grooms for themselves once they reach marriageable age.

The students are also taught different form of handicrafts. The girls make handloom products which have a huge demand the markets of Gujarat. The girls are also taught spoken English so that they don’t have problems in conversing with outsiders.
