Bhubaneswar: The state government has in full swing began for the preparation of the 2018 Mens’ Hockey World Cup scheduled from November here.
Meanwhile, the authorities have decided to draw the attention towards Odisha’s rich culture. Hockey lovers, who will flock to the state to witness the World Cup will get to witness the rich art and culture of Odisha during the mega hockey event.
The authorities have decided to put few unique paintings on display for the audience to draw their attention towards Odisha’s rich culture and great enthusiasm for hockey.
The paintings, a genre of fine art, on hockey created by 25 artists during a six-day camp held at Panthanivas from Oct 1-6, will be displayed during Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup at Kalinga Stadium to take the sports lovers by surprise.
The painting camp organised by Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi in association with Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) concluded Saturday.
Apart from putting these paintings on display at Kalinga Stadium, a catalogue of paintings will also be unveiled, said Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi chairman and international sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik during valedictory ceremony of the event yesterday.
